Biomechanical Energy Harvester
Project Description
The biomechanical energy harvester is a wearable knee or elbow band which generates electricity from human motion. To produce energy from irregular movements like steps or elbow motion, the device uses the concept of stepper motor generator to divide a full rotation into discrete steps and convert mechanical energy to electrical energy. Offering a cleaner alternative to chemical batteries, it also serves a variety of purposes by allowing one to connect and charge almost all kinds of external utility devices. For e.g. charging mobile phones during jogging, powering headlamps of mine workers during mining etc.
